Gayle Cook, 67, of Abbeville, AL passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be 11 am Friday, June 27, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in New Park Cemetery in Ft. Gaines, GA with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cook was born March 11, 1947 in Ft. Benning, GA and moved to Dothan at an early age. She was a 1965 graduate of Rehobeth High School. She was a homemaker and resided here in Dothan until 1995 when she moved to Abbeville with her husband. The highlight of her life was spending time with her family especially her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Cook and her daughter Sherri Anderson.

Survivors include her son Kevin (Holley) Cook; daughters, Terri (Stacey) Knighton, Jerri (Heath) Carpenter, Starla (Michael) Gillis, Melanie (Samuel) Jacob, and Brandi (Todd) Foss; grandchildren, Danielle Braswell, Ryan Anderson, Courtney Anderson, Chase Knighton, Jared Cook, Zach Foss, Tyler Condrey, Matthew Carpenter, Christina Gillis, Trenton Foss, Dylan Carpenter and Ella Knighton; 6 great-grandchildren; brother Shelley Enfinger, Jr.; several nieces and a nephew also survive. Serving as active pallbearers will be Mrs. Cook's grandsons.
