KINSEY. . .Genell Broxton Weeks, a resident of Kinsey, died late Sunday night, December 6, 2015, in a Dothan hospital. She was 83.

            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 9, 2015, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Michael Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the mortuary.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Wiregrass Children’s Home, 1720 State Highway 103, Dothan, AL 36301.

            Mrs. Weeks was born and reared in Headland, daughter of the late Sidney Broxton and Donie Calloway Broxton. She lived in Kinsey most of her life where she was a member of the Kinsey Baptist Church. Mrs. Weeks served as a foster parent for children in her home and was a nursery worker at the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Weeks, two daughters, Brenda Sue Weeks and Phyllis Weeks, a son, Danny Frank Weeks, and an adopted daughter, Mavis Pauline Baldwin.

            Surviving relatives include her son, Freddy Weeks, Kinsey; a sister, Martha Steele, Cowarts; a loving child, Haley Hand, who Genell raised, a nephew, Keith Steele (Paula), and other nieces and nephews from the Weeks family.
