Gennette Whittaker, daughter of Alice Oleva Stater and Elige McInnis passed away on June 1, 2016. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 11, 2016 at John’s Chapel AME Church with Rev. Trevor E. Wooldridge officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 9:00 A.M. and continuing until service time at 11:00 A.M.

Mrs. Whittaker retired from the Ft. Rucker AAFES following over 20 years service to the military community.

Mrs. Whittaker was loved by so many.  Her love, support and sense of humor will forever live in the hearts of family and friends.

Mrs. Whittaker was preceded in death by her husband, L. J. Whittaker and a sister, Geneva Jolly.

Mrs. Whittaker is survived by her three children, Anthony J. Whittaker (Charletta); Teri Whittaker Howard (James); Cheryl Whittaker; sister, Dorothy Baxter; devoted grandson, Devante Edwards; devoted granddaughter, Beunka Whittaker; devoted nieces and nephews, Woodrow Baxter; Bridgette Baxter; Marchelle Baxter; Jennifer Jolly; Sharon Whittaker; Ronnie Whittaker; grandchildren, Jayla Howard; Kelby Howard; Jaime Howard; Samantha Whittaker; Isaiah Whittaker; devoted neighbors, Elaine Carter and dear friend, Betty Brown.
