GENORA  TEW  MAULDIN

HEADLAND. . .Genora Tew Mauldin, a resident of Headland, died Friday morning, March 31, 2017, in the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility in Abbeville. She was 74.

            The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 5:30 P.M. Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Holman-Headland Mortuary. Memorial Services will be held at a later date.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Auburn University Foundation for William R. Solomon Scholarship, c/o Wiregrass Auburn Club, P.O. Box 6084, Dothan, AL 36302 or to City of Headland Animal Rescue Mission (C.H.A.R.M.), P.O. Box 216, Headland, AL 36345.

            Genora Maudin was born in Edwin, Alabama, daughter of the late Webbelene Campbell Tew and Cody C. Tew. She moved to the Echo Community with her family as a child and later graduate from Carroll High School in Ozark. Genora lived in Kinsey and Wicksburg before moving to Headland in 2000. She was a member of the Kinsey Baptist Church where she formerly taught Sunday School. In earlier years, Genora was employed by Evans Supply Co., Buddy’s Building Materials and Ansley’s Building Materials as a bookkeeper. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Crawford Tew and Hugh Don Tew.

            Surviving relatives include two daughters, Rhonda Hartley Parrish (Tim), Headland; and Stacey Hartley Solomon (Parrish Mackin), Vestavia Hills, AL; a son, Christopher G. Hartley, Columbus, GA; two sisters, Annette Tew, Cottonwood; and Judy Lurie (Jerry), Echo Community; five brothers, Freddie Tew (Virginia), Headland; Winston Tew (Erline), Eufaula; Ronnie Tew (Cindy), Edwin Community; Greg Tew, Echo Community; and Randy Tew (Linda), Enterprise; seven grandchildren, Zachary Parrish (Kristen), Ethan Parrish (Taylor), Hayden Parrish (Avery),Taylor Hartley (Jaycee), Cara Owens (Nathan), Ashley Hartley (Flint), and Preston Smith; seven great-grandchildren, Kayla, Blaine, Sean, Megham, Kelsey, Kennedy and Clayton.
