George Steven Howe Sr.

George Steven Howe Sr. was born 9 September 1959 and passed away 18 April 2016, after a long brave fight against cancer.

George “Steve” was born in Eglin Air Force Base, Florida and is the son of Charles William Howe and Mary Jeanette Peterman Howe (deceased) of Daleville, AL.  Steve was an “Army Brat” and he himself served 15 honorable years in the U.S. Army.  When Steve departed the Army he worked a little time helping his parents run the Sea Cove Restaurant which was located in Daleville.  Steve started working for the U.S. Postal Service in December 1993.  Due to health issues Steve was medically retired from the U.S. Postal Service at Fort Rucker in 2013 after 35 combined years of service.  Most will remember Steve as the guy that had a sense of humor and a head full of curly hair.

Steve is survived by his wife of 16 years Lynn M. Aley Howe, George Steven Howe Jr. (son), Jennifer (Robert) Doyle (stepdaughter), Charles D. (Olia) Howe (son), Michael C. Howe (son), Robert L. (Siripa) Howe (son), and Ashton M. (Kyle) Clark (daughter) and Grandpup Duke. Steve is also survived by his brother Charles W. Howe Jr. and sister Brenda S. Howe, and many special family members and friends.

Steve’s most proud memories and largest part of his life was his children all six of them.  Steve’s favorite holiday was Christmas he would spend months on just that perfect gift for each one of them.  Steve loved his children with all his heart.  He lived in many places around the world culminating in Ozark, AL.  Steve spent many hours writing.  He had an internet page called Flash of Fiction.   He just had that knack for words and a kind heart towards all that knew him or those that he serviced at the Fort Rucker Post Office.  You could walk into the post office and there would be 10 people waiting in the line at any given time and he would be there caring for the customer at the window but have all the patrons doubling over in laughter.  He was just that sort of guy that could just make you feel special!   Steve will be greatly missed by his loving wife and family.

Please join us in the celebration of his life on Wednesday 20 April 2016 with visitation hours at 5-7PM, and the funeral on Thursday 21 April 2016 at 2:00 PM at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home, interment will follow at Westview Cemetery, Ozark, AL.  Steve requests any and every one to come and visit and donations be made in honor of him to the Wounded Warriors Project.
