George W. Shiver

George W. Shiver went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 after battling the effects of strokes since October, 2014.

 

He is survived by a family who loved and treasured the wonderful man he was: his wife, Carolyn; step-children, Jeffrey (Loraine) Coker, Sharon (Kevin) Raybon and Stephen (Mary) Coker; three step-grandchildren, Heather (John) Williams, Shelinah (Preston) Strickland, Joseph Coker and James Coker; three step-great-grandchildren, Austin and Jacob Williams, and three weeks old Rylee Hope Strickland.

 

He was preceded in death by his three children, Bruce, Perry and Betty Shiver; his parents Pearl Box Shiver and Pete Shiver.

 

Memorial services were held Friday, May 29, 2015 at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Hartford. Burial followed in Hurricane Creek Church Cemetery. Officiating Ministers were the Rev. Steve Etheridge, pastor of Faith Full Gospel Church, Hartford, and the Rev. Kenneth Martin of Pensacola, FL.
