GERALD  WADE  SKIPPER


 


HEADLAND…Gerald Wade Skipper, a resident of Headland, died Friday morning, September 6, 2013, at his home.  He was 76.


            Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 8, 2013, in the Big Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery, south of Rehobeth, with Pastor Roger Dunnam officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. 


            Mr. Skipper was born in Slocomb and reared in Rehobeth, son of the late Frate Skipper and Ruth Gunnell White Skipper. He lived in Rehobeth most of his life until moving to Headland two months ago. Mr. Skipper retired from Hunt’s Seafood Restaurant and Oyster Bar in Dothan. He was preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Tew, and two brothers, Damon Skipper and Billy Gene Skipper.


            Surviving relatives include his wife, Patricia Ann Spivey Skipper; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Skipper, Headland; a brother, David Max Skipper, Rehobeth; two grandchildren, Justin Dunnam (Slade), and Corey Dunnam; and two great-grandchildren, Elaynna Dunnam, and Eli Dunnam; and several nieces and nephews.

We will be receiving friends and family at my home in Headland. My Address is 261 Folmar Drive. Mother is here, and anyone who would like to stop by and see here, I know it would lift her spirits, please feel welcome to stop by. And we will have a private Family veiwing at 2 p.m. for family and close friends. And we will have a grave side service Sunday at 2 p.m., at Big Creek Church. And thanks again for all the kind words and prayers.
