Glenda Mae Burkett, a resident of Headland, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2016. She was 56.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, September 11, 2016 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Sean Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 pm. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Gentiva Hospice.

Mrs. Burkett was born on July 15, 1960 in Houston County and lived the early years of her life in Wicksburg. She lived most of her life in Headland where she was a homemaker. Mrs. Burkett was a member of New Season Assembly of God Church in Headland.

Mrs. Burkett was preceded in death by her father, James Scott, her mother, Beatrice Scott, and by a brother, Frankie Holbrook.

Survivors include her husband, Donnie Burkett; her son, Miles (Dana) Scott; her daughter, Melinda Floyd; her grandchildren, Trevor and Mason Floyd, Beatrice Scott, Kade, Slade, Eli and Lydia Grace Money; her brothers, Carlton (Brenda) Holbrook and William (Kristi) Scott; several nieces and nephews as well as family members and friends who loved her dearly.
