Gloria Diane Carpenter Walker of Gainesville, Ga., formerly of Samson, passed away on February 15, 2015.  She was 66.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2015 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Phillip Barnes officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. 

Diane was born in Samson on January 19, 1949 to Essie Norris Carpenter and the late Chan Carpenter.  After graduating from Emory University School of Nursing, Diane worked at Wiregrass Medical Center in Geneva for more than twenty-seven years.  She retired from nursing after several years working in Gainesville.  Diane was preceded in death by her grandson, Stephen Mullins, and her sister, Gayle Wright. 

She is survived by her husband of thirty-three years, William Dale Walker of Gainesville, Ga.; two sons, Donnie Mullins of Gainesville, Ga. and Douglas Mullins of Springfield, Mass.; daughter, April Dee Mullins of Geneva; mother, Essie Carpenter of Samson; four grandchildren, Patience Mullins of Springfield, Mass., Katlen Mullins of Elwood, Pennsylvania, Rhianna Fawcet and Wesley Fawcet, both of Lavonia, Ga.; great granddaughter, Sofie Philups of Elwood, Penn; and many extended family and friends.
