Grace Crosby Farris, 73, of Ozark, AL and formerly of New Brockton, AL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Dale Medical Center after a six month battle with cancer.

Preceding her in death is her husband and father to her children, John Bibb Farris.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Eddie Farris (Lynn), Daleville, AL, Debbie Roberts (Keith), New Brockton, AL, Teresa Carr (Sam), Ozark, AL, Amy Odom (Bartlett), Crestview, FL; grandchildren: Zach Roberts (Emily), New Brockton, AL, Katy Grace Cravis, Pensacola FL, Kaylyn Ray (Chad), Birmingham, AL, Jackson Farris Odom and Abigail Odom, Crestview, FL, Daniel Freeman (Chelsey), Dothan, AL, Amanda Freeman, Daleville, AL, Jeri Lynn Farris Lewis, New Brockton, AL; great grandchildren: Nathan Cravis, Austin Bibb Roberts, Trinity Freeman and Jacen Freeman;  also a special nephew, Wesley Crosby and wife, Ruth, who were so wonderful in taking care of “momma”, and her beloved pet and faithful companion, “Nikki”.

A special thank you to the nursing staff of Dale Medical Center for the genuine compassion shown to our mother. The family would also like to take the time to thank all of her “special friends” on White Avenue for being such wonderful caring neighbors during her retirement years. Ozark had become a great second home since her move from New Brockton in 2003 after her retirement from Goldkist/Southern States in Samson AL.

Our “maw-maw” will be greatly missed by her family and all of those who know and love her.

The family will gather at her home in Ozark. At her request a private memorial will be held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to the Dale County Public Library, the Christian Mission and the American Cancer Society.
