OBITUARY FROM HOLMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS OF OZARK   ~   334‑774‑5348


Mr. Harvey Leslie “Chuck” Deloney, of the Browns Crossroads Community near Ozark, died Monday afternoon, May 4, 2015, at his home.  Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Thursday, May 7, 2015,  from Bethel United Methodist Church with Reverend Charles Melvin and Reverend Danny Gilroy officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Wednesday evening from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.  Mr. Deloney was born in Dale County to the late Thermon Dan Deloney and Rachel Estell Brown Deloney.  He graduated from Carroll High School, attended Auburn University and served in the Air National Guard. Harvey was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church where he was active until his illness. He enjoyed his church life, family life and work life.  His entire work life was in the Civil Engineering career field which included thirty-four years with the Alabama Department of Transportation and ten years with Polyengineering.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia “Ginger” McCord Deloney; and his granddaughter, Jordan Michelle Long. Mr. Deloney is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Raymond Walters of Valley, Alabama; one son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Jamie Deloney of Ozark; one granddaughter, Harper MaLyn Deloney of Ozark;  one brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Barbara Deloney of Dothan; step grandsons, Brandon Walters and Cameron Walters; two nieces, Rhonda (David) Seay of Montgomery and Dana (John) Gunter of Dothan; one sister-in-Law, Emma Jones of Lakeland, Florida.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church Building Fund, C/O Kim Winslett, P.
