HELEN  FREEMAN  RICHARDSON


ECHO COMMUNITY. . .Helen Freeman Richardson, a resident of Dale County, near the Echo Community, died Saturday, February 11, 2017 at her home. She was 66.


            Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 14, 2017, in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, near Newville, with Pastor Scott Wyatt officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:00 P.M. Tuesday in the sanctuary of the Concord Baptist Church.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Concord Baptist Church, 6286 County Road 73, Headland, AL 36345.


            Mrs. Richardson was a native of Slocomb in Geneva County and moved to Dale County in 1998. She was a member of the Concord Baptist Church. Mrs. Richardson retired from Swedish Match Cigar Company in Dothan. She was preceded in death by her father, Dewitt C. Freeman and a sister, Patty Freeman.


            Surviving relatives include her husband, Ricky Oliver Richardson; a son, Kevin McKnight (Stephanie), Dothan; her mother, Hazel Smith Kelley, Malvern; two sisters, Faye Bailey (Donnie), Fadette; and Sue Willoughby (Drake), Malvern; two brothers, Danny Freeman (Lena), Malvern; and Freddy Freeman, Tuscaloosa; two grandchildren, Lauren McKnight and Jamison Wilson; a special friend, Jean McKee, and two beloved canine friends, Molly and Sport.


            The family would like to thank Vanessa Young for the loving care and kindness shown to Mrs. Richardson during her illness.
