            Mr. Henry E. Wood, Sr. of Enterprise, AL passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 at Medical Center Enterprise.  He was 90.


            Funeral services will be at 11 am Monday, January 19, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Enterprise with Reverend Sonny Moore officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory  of Enterprise directing.  The family will receive friends at Sorrells Funeral Home on Sunday, January 18 from 4 until 6 pm. The body will be placed into the church one hour before service time.


              In lieu of flowers, please offer sympathy through the First Baptist Church of Enterprise Youth Fund.


            Mr. Wood was born May 21, 1924 in Sylacauga, Alabama to the late Rev. Jessie W. and Cora Lee Bentley Wood.  He was a WWII veteran of the United States Marine Corp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Artie W. Wood.


            He is survived by his son Dr. Henry E. Wood, Jr. and wife Shelly of Lakeview, Arkansas; daughter Beverly Mitchell and husband John of Enterprise; grandchildren: Melanie Sneed, Henry E. Wood III, Meredith Hamilton, John L. Mitchell, Jr., Grayson C. Wood; great-grandchildren, Jessica Sneed, Mitchell Bonura, Bailee Sneed, Camille Bonura, Tatum Mitchell, Kathryn Allyn Wood, Tyler Mitchell, Henry E. Wood IV, Tindol Mitchell,  sister; Rosa Lee Liveoak (Elvin), Tuscaloosa, Alabama.


              The family would like to offer a special Thanks to Dr. Sam Sawyer, Dr. Sherry Roach, Dr. Lyn Diefenderfer and Dr. Gary Allen. Also to the staff of the Enterprise Medical Center, Enterprise Health & Rehabilitation Center, Gentiva Hospice, Joyce Dorsey and Annie Jones.     


                Honorary pallbearers will be the Truth Seekers Sunday School Class.
