Mr. Henry Quillen Smith of Cottonwood passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at his residence. He was 82.


 


Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, October 11, 2013, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Hosea Parker officiating. Burial will be at Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.


 


The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 A.M. Friday, October 11, 2013, one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Gentiva Hospice.


 


 Mr. Smith was a longtime of Dothan. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed working, farming, and he owned his own construction company, Smith Construction. He was known for his car lot, City Auto Sales.


 


He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Edna of 40 years, two sisters, and three brothers.


 


Survivors include daughters, Meredith Kirkland and her husband, Gerald of Slocomb; Ellen Arretteig and her husband, Joe of Baton Rouge, LA; sons, Terry Smith and his wife, Peggy of Cottonwood; Dennis Smith of Cottonwood; grandchildren, Kristin, Wade, Chase, Brett, Amber, Curtis, Dustin, Eric, Jeffrey, Isaac, Donna Kay, Sloane, great-grandchildren, Hunter, Tyler, Braden, Kirkland, Emmalyn Grace, Haley, Landon, Frankie, Lucas, and Noah.
