Herbert Lamar Holland, 62, a resident of Dothan passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013 in Extendicare Health and Rehab.

Graveside services will be held 2 pm Monday, March 18, 2013 at Skipperville United Methodist Church Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 5 pm at Sunset Funeral Home.

Herbert was born April 17, 1950 in Dale County and he lived the early years of his life in Newton. Herbert was a 1969 graduate of Dale County High School and was employed in the banking industry with SouthTrust Bank. He has resided in Dothan for the past 30 years and was a member of the Optimist Club. Herbert was an avid Alabama "Roll Tide" fan.

Survivors include his son Chad (Pam) Holland of Albany, GA; his daughter Nicole (fiancé Stuart Alson) Holland of Los Angeles, CA; 2 grandchildren, Katie Holland and Madison Holland, of Albany, Georgia; his canine family, Muki and Sushi; his former wife Laverne Holland of Dothan; his brothers, George (Sue) Holland of Dothan, and Paul (Phillis) Holland of Pinckard; nephews, Rodney Holland of Dothan, Ricky Holland of Pinckard, Tim Holland of Birmingham, and Mike Holland of Dothan.
