Herbert Wood, age 85 of New Brockton, formerly of Enterprise, AL, passed away, Sunday, April 26, 2015 in Enterprise.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M., Monday, April 27, 2015 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Enterprise Chapel with Rev. Shirley Ellis officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Haw Hill Assembly of God Church, 17996 Hwy. 125, Brundidge, AL 36010.

He served in the United States Army from December 1950 to December 1952.  He was an avid gardener and fisherman. He served as Sunday School Superintendent at Haw Hill Assembly of God for over 20 years.

Herbert was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Wood and a brother, Lloyd Wood.

Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Wood, New Brockton, AL; three daughters, Pamela Wood and her sons, Travis and Tyler McLemore, Austin, TX; Judy Caradine (Jack) New Brockton, AL; Janet Norris (Rickey) Opp, AL; three sons, Joey Walden (Denise) Elba, AL; Jamie Walden (Daphne) New Brockton, AL; Brent Rachel (Susan) Augusta, GA; nineteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Wood (Polly) Wicksburg, AL; Benny Wood, Enterprise, AL; numerous nieces and nephews.
