Mr. Herman D. “Bill” Gano of Enterprise, Alabama passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 at the family residence.  He was 86.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 24, 2015 in the Chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise.

Mr. Gano was born April 10, 1929, in Orlando, Florida, to the late Edwin and Ola Mae Merritt Gano.  He had a distinguished career in the United States Army and was a combat veteran.  He was a pilot, a master gunsmith, and a mason, as well as the owner of Skate-A-Rama Skating Rink.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lee Gano, three sisters, and a brother.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Gano of Enterprise; a son, H. David Gano Jr. (Dianne) of Mobile; two daughters: Deborah K. Gano Lancaster of Birmingham and Katherine L. Gano Chastain (Joe) of Panama City, FL; a brother, Kenneth Gano (Pat) of Lynn Haven, FL; six grandchildren: James and Joshua Gano, Danielle and D.J. Lancaster, and Joseph and Justin Chastain.
