Mr. Hollis Larue Powell of Enterprise passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at the family residence following an extended illness.  He was 84.

A memorial service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 2, 2014, in the Chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Enterprise with Reverend Thomas Kapes officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday beginning at 9:00 and continuing until service time.

Mr. Powell was born October 30, 1929.  He was a retired mechanic and small business owner.

His parents, Cliffton Powell and Frances Powell Tomberlin preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah H. Powell of Enterprise; 2 sons: Art Powell of Helena, Arkansas and Mark Powell (Janet) of Chunky, Mississippi; 1 daughter: Sharon Terry of Navarre, Florida; 3 grandchildren: Tonya Edwards, Michelle Edwards, and Marcus Powell; 4 loving great-grandchildren; 1 sister: Martha Jo Hurley (Lee) of Birmingham, AL; 1 brother: Jimmy Tomberlin of Enterprise, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
