Mr. Howard Dyan Tucker, age 77, a resident of Dothan died Thursday November 15, 2012 at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center following an extended illness.

 

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday November 17, 2012 at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ricky Plummer and Sister Judy Dyson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery in Avon with Kendall Glover of Glover Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will be receiving friends at Glover Funeral Home on Saturday from 1:15 p.m. until 2:15 p.m.  Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church, 3257 East Cottonwood Rd, Dothan, AL 36301.

 

Mr. Tucker was born on March 27, 1935 in Dothan the son of the late John Alvin and Leona Watford Tucker.  He was retired as a long haul truck driver.  Mr. Tucker was a member of Howard Grove F.W. Baptist Church and was a lifelong resident of Houston county.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Katherine Bruner Tucker on July 7, 1990, his parents, sisters, Blondell Hinson and Gwen Tucker, brother, Don Tucker.

 

Survivors include: daughters, JoAnn Raybon (Terry), Ashford; Debra Bertelson (Jerry), Ridgefield, WA; sons, Sandy Ray Tucker, Ashford; Steve Tucker (Sandi), Dothan; sisters, Gavon Braswell, Dothan; Glenda Sue Monday, Webb; Syble Thrillkill and Ruby Whittaker, both of Auburndale, FL; brothers, Johnny Tucker, Dothan; James Tucker, Dothan; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers will be: Josh Raybon, Keith Alford, Bobby Braswell, Gary Braswell, Lamar Braswell and Buddy Braswell.
