Mrs. Ira Lee Barnes of Hartford passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in Enterprising Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 102.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with Bro. Tommy Cumbie officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Hartford.

 

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church or Hartford Senior Citizens Center.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Abner Barnes; her brother, Robert Hicks.

 

Survivors include her children, Julia Barnes Todd (James) of Hartford, Bill Barnes of Montgomery, and Barbara Barnes Starleigh (Gil) of Tallahassee, FL.; five grandchildren, Jason Todd, Matthew Todd, Brace Barnes, Brant Barnes, and Donovan Rennow; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Tura Daughtry and Mattie Pearl Gilliland; several nieces and nephews.
