J R Hughes, age 77, of New Brockton, AL passed away, Saturday, February 1, 2014 at his home. 

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Old Tabernacle Cemetery with Reverend Terry McCrummen officiating with Searcy Funeral Home directing. 

J R was preceded in death by his wife, Monette Hughes.

Survivors include his daughter, Annette Caylor, New Brockton, AL; three sisters, Sue Howell, Vonnie Lee, Jessie Johnson (Bobby); four brothers, A.D. Hughes (Hazel), John Bell Hughes (Willene), Wendell Hughes (Sylvia), Harrison Hughes (Myra);  three sisters -in-law, Sarah Hughes, Faye Hughes, Eloise Hughes; several nieces and nephews.

Memorials can be made to:  The Alzheimer’s Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, 17 Floor , Chicago, Il, 60601-7633.
