James Earl Farmer of Hartford passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 at his residence. He was 86.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm Monday, June 9, 2014 at Hartford Baptist Church with Dr. Ralph Brannon, Rev. Bruce Spivey, and Rev. Chris Kroll officiating. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery under the direction of Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral services at the church.

 

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Gentiva Hospice of Dothan, Hartford Baptist Church, Hartford Assembly of God Church, or Geneva Baptist Association.

 

Mr. Farmer was preceded in death by his parents, Burl and Jewel Farmer; one brother, Gene Farmer.

 

Survivors include his wife, Annie Jo Colquett Howell Farmer of Hartford; daughter, Helen Collins of MI; sister-in-law, Mary Farmer; niece, Paula (Tommy) Alley; sister-in-law, Elouise (Wayne) Northey; several nieces, nephews; several special cousins.
