James Gerald Danley of Geneva, Alabama went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, June 2, 2015.  He was 54.


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Scott Crooms and Rev. Elbert Smith officiating.  Burial with Masonic rites will follow in the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home onThursday beginning at 12:00 p.m. and continue until service time.  At all other times the family will be at the home of his aunt, Liz Parrish, 301 Deerwood Estates, Geneva, AL 36340.


Gerald was born July 4, 1960, in Covington County, Alabama. He was a 1978 graduate of Samson High School and later graduated from Patrick Henry Community College in 1982.  The majority of his working career was in the forestry business as a timber buyer.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his children were his life and he loved them dearly.  Gerald was a very loving and devoted father.  He was a member of the New Hope Etna Masonic Lodge and also a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Geneva.


Survivors include his three children: James Garrett Danley and Joseph Gavin Danley both of Samson, and Macy Cheynne Danley of Defuniak Springs, FL; parents, Roger and Merlene Danley of Samson; brother, Jeffrey Danley of Samson; special aunt, Liz Parrish of Geneva; mother of his children: Norma Jean Holmes Price of Defuniak Springs, FL; step daughter, Kayla Kerfoot; several other special aunts, uncles, cousins, other extended family and a host of friends.
