Mr. James L. Davis of Montgomery passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Jackson Hospital. He was 96.



 



Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 24, 2014 from the Faith Assembly of God church with Reverend Huey Anderson and Reverend Billy Cardwell officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Enterprise directing.  The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 2:00 pm and continuing until service time.



 



Mr. Davis was born December 15, 1917 in Coffee County to the late Robert Lee and Liza Grimes Davis. He was a member at Faith Assembly of God in Enterprise. Mr. Davis loved to farm and also worked at Flemming Ford Tractor Company in Enterprise for many years before retiring.



 



In addition to his parents, his first wife, Mary Motley Davis; one sister, Ruby Heath; one brother, Jack Davis; and five half-brothers, Lunis Clements, Tony Clements, Billie Clements, Charley Clements, and Jimmie Clements all preceded him in death. 



 



Survivors include his wife, Avis McCall Davis, three sons: Jimmy Davis (Elizabeth), Dr. Tommy Davis (Barbara), Reverend Ronny Davis (Lori), one step-daughter, Charlotte Godwin (David), 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
