FT. GAINES, GEORIGIA. . .James Raiford Rodgers, a resident of Ft. Gaines, Georgia, died Thursday, December 3, 2015, in the Early Memorial Nursing Home in Blakely. He was 75.

            There are no funeral or memorial services planned. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

            Mr. Rodgers was a native of Troy, Alabama, son of the late William Connie Rodgers and Lilian Lucy Johnson Rodgers. He lived in Youngstown, Florida, Asheville, North Carolina and Georgetown, Georgia before moving to Ft. Gaines. He was retired as a carpet and flooring installer. Mr. Rodgers was preceded in death by a step-son, Mark Deck, a granddaughter, Rebecca Sauls and a great-grandson, Abel Carter.

            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Tammy Rodgers Sauls (David), Shorterville; two step-sons, Nicky Deck and Neal Deck, both of Dothan; two sisters, Ruth Tanner and Rachel Gillis; two brothers, Roy Rodgers and Ricky Rodgers; three grandchildren, Tabitha Carter (Bobby), Tiffany Baxley (Justin), and Taylor Sauls, a step-grandson, Chris Deck; five great-grandchildren; his former wife, Katheren Kirkland, Dothan.
