Mr. James Richard Peak, Jr. of Hwy 179-A, Westville, Florida passed away Friday, October 17, 2014.  He was 65.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2014, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Chris Kroll and Rev. Jerry Pettis officiating.  A private graveside service will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, October 20, from 6 until 8 p.m.

Richard was born November 28, 1948, in Columbus, Georgia to the late James Richard Sr. and Frances Earline Ray Peak.  For four years he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.  He was a hard worker who loved working as a backhoe operator and tending his garden.   He enjoyed his old truck and watching Alabama “Roll Tide” football.  Richard loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending family time sitting by the fire, camping and swimming.  At the end of the day he would always make sure everything was taken care of and was home for supper.

In addition to his parents, one sister, Linda Gail Bishop, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Deborah Peak of Westville; three daughters: Sherry (Marty) Wright of Hartford, Kelley Peak and Leah Peak (B.J.) Leavins, all of Westville; five grandchildren: Cooper and Brody Wright, Raven and Levi Leavins and Ethan Driggers; two brothers: Tony Peak of Black and Blakely Peak of Westville; several special nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
