Mr. James Rufus Leddon of Coffee Springs passed away at Wiregrass Medical Center on Thursday, May 15, 2014.  He was 80.  The family will hold a private memorial service.  Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva is in charge of arrangements.


Mr. Leddon was born in Pike County, Ala. on August 28, 1933 to the late Johnny James Leddon and Minnie Mae Pearson Leddon.  Prior to his retirement he operated heavy equipment for the State of Alabama and later for the County of Geneva.  Mr. Leddon loved everybody he met and they loved him.


He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Louise Ballard Leddon; daughter, Betty Jo Pate (Norman) of Westville, Fla.; two grandsons, George Shannon Davis (Frances) of the Flat Creek Community and Jeremy Rufus Davis of Geneva; two great grandchildren, Victoria Lynn Davis and Shawn Davis; two step-great grandchildren, Jeffrey McAdams and Nichole McAdams, all of Flat Creek Community; two brothers, J.W. Leddon (Lonnel) of Mobile, and Casper Leddon (Mary) of California; sister, Evelyn Culpepper of Union Springs; neighbors and very special friends, J.W. and Johnny Ray of Coffee Springs, Ala.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
