Obituary:  James Edward Summerlin

 

Mr. James Edward Summerlin of Altha, Florida, formerly of New Brockton, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014. He was 82.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise with Reverend Carlton Baggett officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 until 7 p.m.

Mr. Summerlin was born October 2, 1931 in Jackson County, FL to the late Joe and Martha Whitfield Summerlin.  In addition to his parents his wife, Lillie Ruth Driggers Summerlin; and three sisters: Lucille Watford, Elizabeth(Nig) Wiley, Lois Traylor all preceded him in death.

Survivors include one brother, J.L. Summerlin (Myrl), and three sisters: Lorene Shelton, Margie Hollis, and Louise Nichols (Earl).
