Jerry William Grimes, Jr. of Geneva, Alabama passed away suddenly Saturday, February 23, 2013.   He was 46.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. John Pavlus and Rev. Dennis Singletary officiating.  Burial will follow in the Leonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, February 26, from 5 until 7 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Devco Baptist Church.

William was born October 9, 1966 in Dale County, Alabama.  He managed Westgate Jewelry and Loan and also Park and Pawn in Dothan for a number of years.  He was presently employed with Circle City Transport.  William was a member of Devco Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Coy A. and Katreen Byrd Grimes and John Floyd Avant, as well as an uncle, Kenneth Allen Avant and his wife Joyce.

Survivors include his parents, Jerry W. Sr. and Mildred Dean Avant Grimes; two sisters: Vanessa Grimes Kealoha and Sharon Grimes Palmer, all of Geneva; grandmother, Louise Avant of Newton; niece and nephews: Anela Kealoha, Allen (Susan) O’Keefe, Chase Palmer, Heath “Billy Bob” Palmer and Caleb (Denita) Kealoha; two great nephews: Chase Micah “C.J.” Palmer and Zane Leland Kealoha; other extended family and friends.
