Jesse Lawrence Strickland, 91, of Ozark, died August 21, 2015 at home.



Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2015 at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terriel Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at Asbury Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 pm on Monday.



Mr. Strickland was born March 8, 1924 in Dale County to the late Jesse W. and Tempie Dell Brown Strickland and lived most all of his life there. He was engaged in the timber business and owned and operated Strickland Logging for over 50 years. He also farmed and enjoyed raising cattle. Mr. Strickland was of the Methodist faith.



He was predeceased by a son, Will Strickland, a brother, Odell Strickland and a sister, Margaret Worsham.



Survivors include his wife, Gladys Jeanette Strickland of Ozark; his children, Wanda Whaley (Larry), Shirley Tadlock (Dorsey), Carolyn Vance (Gary), Charlotte Mitchell (Bob), Janan Doster (Larry), Leon Strickland; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Coolidge Strickland, Billy Strickland and Donald Strickland; 1 sister, Janie Payne; numerous nieces and nephews.
