Jimmie Lee Watson of Enterprise passed away Friday evening, January 15, 2016 at  Enterprise Health and Rehab. He was 81.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Wednesday at Goodman Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Williams officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the Church on Wednesday beginning at 1:00pm and continuing until service time.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions be made to the Goodman Baptist Church, men’s scholarship fund in memory of Jimmie Lee Watson, 6561 County Road 625, Enterprise, AL 36330 or Alabama Baptist Children’s Home, 1302 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan, AL 36301 (alabamachild.org).

Mr. Watson was born November 28, 1934 in Coffee County to the late Joseph J.Watson and Alma Bradley Watson. He was retired from Dyncorp Production Control Department. Serving an extensive military career, he spent 3 years in the Marines, 3 years in the Marines Reserve and 21 years in the Army National Guard. He was a member of Goodman Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, his step father, James McInnis, step mother, Nan Watson as well as brother’s in law, Charles Ellis and Danny Champion all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughter, Jenny Hughes, Enterprise, his son, Steve Watson and his wife Cindy, Minden, Louisiana,  sister, Betty Joyce Ellis, Elba, AL, brother, Clifford Watson and his wife Nancy, Donalsonville, Ga, step-sisters, Rita Champion and Ann Wells (Dwight) all of Dothan, AL, 5 grandchildren, Eric Hughes (Katie), Craig Hughes, Brent Watson (Rikki Leigh), Nicole Horne (Truett), Garrett Watson (Krista) and a great grandchild expected very soon,   nieces and nephews.
