  Mr. James Ellis "Jimmy" Dykes, 74, of 2204 Three Notch Rd., Blakely, Ga., died early Monday morning, January 26, 2015 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Al. His funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 PM EST, Jan. 29, 2015 in the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home in Blakely, Ga. with Rev. Dwight Bishop and Rev. Jay Reppert officiating. Burial will follow in the Blakely Cemetery with Rev. James Scarborough officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, Jan. 28, 2015, from 6 until 8 PM EST. Active Pallbearers will be Tim Segers, Mike Segers, Glenn Johnson, Chad Chapman, Matt Darley and Gary Pritchett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Georgia Pacific Retirees.


    Mr. Dykes was born Jan. 30, 1940 in Skipperville, Al. to the late James Harold Dykes and Edna Norton Dykes. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blakely but had also attended Centerville United Methodist Church. He was retired from Georgia Pacific Paper Mill in the Environmental Control Division and he was also a retired farmer.


     His survivors include his wife, Sandra Paul Dykes of Blakely, Ga.; a daughter, Julie D. Bridges and Neal of Cumming, Ga.; 2 sons, Jim Dykes and Jill and Jay Dykes and Heather, all of Dothan, Al. and a sister-in-law, Debbie Clarke and Brad of Donalsonville, Ga. There are also 8 grandchildren: Ellis, Sullivan and Boland Dykes of Dothan, Al.; Hayden, Tanner and Emerson Bridges of Cumming, Ga. and Jackson and Porter Dykes of Dothan, Al.


    In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be sent to the A L S  Association, 1275 K Street NW, Suite 250, Washington, DC 20005
