Mr. Jimmy Leon Parrish of Dothan passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015. He was 83.


 


Born on December 4, 1932 in Dothan to the late Jay Parrish and Lois Evans Parrish. Mr. Parrish was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, a member of the First Presbyterian Church of 63 years, where he was a Sunday School teacher for the Men’s Class, a Deacon, and an Elder, he was also a graduate of Auburn University, he served as a major for the United States Air Force, being a veteran of the Berlin Crisis, Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam, he was the owner of Jim Parrish Realty, he served on the City of Dothan Zoning Adjustment Board, and was a member of Dothan Jaycees.


 


Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Harriet Grubb Parrish of Dothan; two sons, Bret Parrish (Diane) of Dothan, Todd Parrish (Angie) of Dothan; daughter, Leigh Ann Smith (Stephen) of Dothan; grandchildren, Lauren Parrish, Caroline Rockwell, Taylor Parrish, Mary Frances Smith, and Isabelle Smith of Dothan.


 


A graveside service will be held at Memory Hill Cemetery, Sunday, December 27, 2015 at 1:30 PM with Pastor Rob Oates officiating. There will be a visitation after the graveside service starting at 2:00 PM at The First Presbyterian Church of Dothan, with a service beginning at 3 PM.


 


Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Dothan.
