John Arthur Sizemore of Enterprise passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.  He was 82.


 


Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2017 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Rev. John McCrummen and Rev. Larry Doster officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m.


 


Mr. Sizemore was born July 19, 1934, in Beach Fork, West Virginia.  He was retired from the U.S. Army and Century 21 of Enterprise. He was the recipient of a Bronze Star.  He was a dedicated member of Open Door Baptist Church.


 


He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Sally Mae Beavers Sizemore; a daughter, Joyce Ann Sizemore; and a sister, Carolyn Johnson.


 


Survivors include his wife, Ella Jean Weeks of Enterprise; daughter, Donna Jean Manecke (Dennis) of Louisville, KY; son, John Arthur Sizemore Jr. of Baltimore, MD; brother, Larry Powers of Baltimore, MD; three sisters: Dorothy Hugart of Shreveport, LA, Loretta Powers of Baltimore, MD, and Sharon Grist of Baltimore, MD; three grandchildren: Denise Manecke of Louisville, Dominic Manecke of Washington D.C., and Dustin Manecke of Louisville.
