ABBEVILLE. . .John David Culver, a resident of the Brown’s Crossroads Community of Henry County, died Sunday afternoon, March 6, 2016, in a Dothan hospital. He was 80.

            Graveside services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 9, 2016, in the Union Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Jeff Ethridge officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside services.

            Mr. Culver was born in Canada and reared in Vermont. He formerly lived in Providence, Rhode Island and Clearwater, Florida before moving to Henry County seventeen years ago. Mr. Culver was retired from the Pinellas County, Florida School System.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, June Thornton Culver, Abbeville; four daughters, Donna Amos (David), Clearwater, Florida; Shirley Laliberte (Paul), Pawtucket, Rhode Island; Amy Stabile (Joseph) and Lillian Allen (Russ), all of Clearwater, Florida; two sons, David Ethridge (Elaine), Abbeville and Bobby Ethridge (Kim), Clearwater, FL; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
