HEADLAND…John David Temples, a resident of Headland, died early Saturday morning, January 9, 2016, in a Dothan hospital. He was 61.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, January 10, 2016, in Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Neil Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery near Headland. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary in Headland.

            In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for funeral expenses.

            Mr. Temples was born in Georgia and reared in Blakely. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps in the Vietnam War. Mr. Temples lived in Albany before moving to Headland in 2012. He was employed by Ellenburg Construction Company of Dothan. In earlier years, he owned and operated Temples Roofing in Albany. He was preceded in death by an aunt, Viola Jenkins, who raised him.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Barbara Posey Temples; two sons, Jeremy Temples, Albany, GA and Jamie Temples, Indiana; two step-sons, Jimmy Harden, Albany and Matthew Philmon, Headland; a sister, Sherry Page, Albany GA; two step-grandchildren.
