JOHN  HOWARD  WARD

ABBEVILLE. . .John Howard Ward, a resident of Abbeville, (Screamer Community on Lake Eufaula), departed this world and entered heavenly spaces, Tuesday morning, September 24, 2013.  He was 55.

            A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 6977 Main Street, Houston, Texas 77030-3701 or to Gentiva Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL 36302.

            John Howard Ward was a native of St. Petersburg, Florida and formerly lived in Dothan before moving to Henry County on Lake Eufaula in 2005. He was affiliated with the Ft. Gaines Presbyterian Church. John was a great fisherman who was known for catching large catfish.

            Surviving relatives include his parents, Bill and Shirley Walker Ward, Abbeville; two brothers, Radney Ward (Diane), and David Ward (Leisha), all of Dothan; nieces and nephews, Dillon Ward (Danielle), Garret Ward, Alyse Murkerson (Mitch), Dustin Ward, and Joe Ward; a great-nephew, Kaeden Murkerson.

            The family would like to express their appreciation to Gentiva Hospice for the loving kindness and care shown to John and his family during his illness.
