John Kenneth Moyer, Jr., 79, of Opp, went to sleep in Jehovah’s memory early Thursday morning, January 7, 2016 in Dothan.

Memorial services will be held 3:30 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 1540 Damascus Road, Enterprise, Alabama with Brother Willie Gilmer officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.

 Mr. Moyer was born July 25, 1936 in Barstow, California to John Moyer Sr. and Margaret J. Moyer. He dedicated his life to Jehovah and symbolized that dedication by water baptism on July 9, 1983. His biblical research revealed the hope of a resurrection to a perfect life in an earthly paradise. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mr. Moyer spent many hours in the worldwide preaching work telling others about God’s promises for the future through the realization of His Kingdom rule. Additionally, he studied the Bible with others, showing them God’s plan to restore the earth to a paradise as verified by an examination of the Holy Scriptures. Mr. Moyer is sleeping in death faithfully awaiting that assured resurrection. He attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Opp.

Mr. Moyer is predeceased by his wife, Jo Moyer.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Moyer of Opp, AL; eight children: two sons with Jo-Ann Moyer, Greg Moyer (Claudia) of San Mateo, CA, Douglas Moyer (Roberta) of Vancouver, WA, one daughter of Jo Moyer, Donna Fenton (Steve) of Stuart, FL, and five children of Mary Jane Moyer, Amelia Pryor (Tom) of Enterprise, AL, Teresa Hendricks (Randy) of Enterprise, AL, Alan Moore (Bette) of Ozark, AL, Tom Moore (Rebekah) of Midland City, AL and Connie Saetang (Anusorn) of Ozark, AL; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joanne Cormier, of Poland, ME.
