John M. McGinty, a resident of Ozark, died Tuesday, February 7, 2016 at his residence. He was 90.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2017 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ridgecrest Baptist Church, “Building Fund”, Ozark, AL or a favorite charity.
Mr. McGinty was born May 25, 1926 in Douglas, Georgia and has been a resident of Ozark since 1964. He served in the U. S. Navy and was employed with Liberty National Life Insurance Company for over 25 years prior to his retirement. Mr. McGinty was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
Mr. McGinty is predeceased by his wife, Billie B. McGinty.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Szpek and Kathy Wakefield, both of Ozark; a grandson, Ashley Szpek and his wife, Sarah of Skipperville; two great grandchildren, John and Kaci Szpek; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Deacons will serve as pallbearers.
