JOHN  OATES  NORTON

 

GENEVA, ALABAMA. . .John Oates Norton, a resident of Geneva, Alabama, formerly of Henry County, died Friday night, August 23, 2013, in the Wiregrass Medical Center in Geneva. He was 80.

            Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 25, 2013, in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery with Amy Parrish officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary in Abbeville.

            Mr. Norton was born and reared in Henry County, son of the late F. O. Norton and Edna Fletcher Norton. He lived in Opelika most of his lifetime where he was retired from B.F. Goodrich as a Tire Processing Machine Operator. In earlier years, Mr. Norton was employed by WestPoint Stevens.

            Surviving relatives include a brother, Jack Norton, Shorterville; several cousins including, Russell Hardwick, Abbeville; and Amy Parrish, Coffee Springs.
