John William Potter, 79, a resident of Dothan passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at his residence.


Mr. Potter was born March 19, 1935 in Ocean Port, New Jersey. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War having served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years. Following his military service he was employed with Cordis Medical Supply in Miami, FL for 21 years until his retirement in 1998 which is when he relocated to Dothan. He was an avid Alabama Football Fan and loved to go bowling with his family. Mr. Potter was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association in Dothan, the VFW in Miami, FL, the Moose Lodge in Miami, FL and the Elks Lodge in Miami, FL.


Survivors include his wife Rosemarie Potter; sons, Mike (Denise) Potter, and Billy (Della-Rie) Potter; 4 grandchildren, Kristin Potter-Oliveri, Jennifer Potter, Ryan Potter, and Casey Potter; 3 great-grandchildren, Aidan Swink, Haleigh Potter, and Dylan Bass; several nieces and nephews also survive.
