JOHNNY  INGRAM,  JR.




ABBEVILLE. . .Johnny Ingram, Jr., a resident of County Road 99, Abbeville, died  peacefully Monday morning, February 3, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was 85.



            Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, February 5, 2014, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Minister Bobby Gayton, Pastor Randy Greene and Scotty Scott officiating.  Burial will follow in the Griggs-Ingram Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 2:30 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary.



            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alacare Hospice, 379 West Main Street, Dothan, AL 36303.



            Johnny Ingram, Jr. was born in Enterprise and reared in the Enon Community, near Ashford, son of the late John C. (Johnny) Ingram, Sr. and Bessie Bell Ingram. He lived in Dothan from 1969 until 1985 when he moved to the Oakey Grove Community, near Abbeville. Mr. Ingram attended the Abbeville Church of Christ and formerly attended the Enon Church of Christ and served as a lay speaker. He was retired as the owner and operator of the Johnny Ingram Co., Inc. in Dothan. Mr. Ingram was a former member of the Dothan Rotary Club, Dothan Toastmasters, the Ashford Lions Club, and the Ashford Quarterback Club. In earlier years, he served as the President of Alabama Onsite Wastewater Association.



            Mr. Ingram was preceded in death by grandsons, John Timothy Ingram, and Daniel Griggs Ingram, two sisters, Dollie McNeill, and Callie Mae Kilgore, four brothers, Leo Ingram, Lester Ingram, Jesse Ingram, and Frankie Ingram.



            Surviving relatives include his wife, Betty Griggs Ingram; two daughters, Pam Ingram Taylor (Mike), and Amy Ingram Faison (John); a son, Tim Ingram (Sandra), all of Abbeville; a sister, Eunice Odom (Howard), Marianna, FL; four grandchildren,  Abby Taylor, Erin Scott (Scotty), Jennifer Peacock, and Jessica Kendall (Josh); eight great-grandchildren, Madison Ingram, Cowen Ingram, Taylor Schulman, Emma Schulman, Jaylen Brunson, Layla Moctezuma, Aiden Kendall, and Maddox Kendall; a brother-in-law, James Walter Griggs (Sara), Abbeville; numerous nieces and nephews.



            Serving as active pallbearers will be Jesse Ingram, Jim Griggs, John Faison, Josh Kendall, Scotty Scott, and Tim Ingram.
