Mr. Johnny Kelvin Cumbie Sr. of Clayhatchee passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 66. 

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the Providence Baptist Church in Clayhatchee with Reverend Chad Hixon officiating.  Burial will follow in the Providence Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 pm.

Mr. Cumbie was born on July 4, 1948 in Houston County to the late Rex and Louise McKinnon Cumbie.  He was a 1966 graduate of Wicksburg High School and also worked with AFS for 35 years before his retirement. He was passionate about his family and was a loving father, grandfather, and great- grandfather.

In addition to his parents, one brother, James Dow Cumbie, mother and father-in-law, Harry and Ruby Pouncey all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Mary Ann Cumbie, Clayhatchee; three sons: Johnny Cumbie (Leah), Slocomb, Brad Cumbie (Kim), Jason Cumbie, both of Clayhatchee; grandchildren:Hayley Cumbie Spagnola (Chris), Mobile, AL, Hunter Cumbie, Clayhatchee, Brice Daniels, Birmingham, AL, Hannah and Haley Crosby, both of Slocomb; one great-grandchild, Tannon Spagnola, Mobile,AL, two brothers: Benny Cumbie, Tommy Cumbie (Donna), one sister, Faye Southerland, all of Wicksburg as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
