Johnny W. Tarver, 70 a resident of Dothan passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015 at his residence.


Funeral services will be held 10am Monday, August 17, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Tommy Giddens officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3pm-5pm.


Mr. Tarver was born January 16, 1945 in Houston County and he resided in Dothan most of his life. He was a 1964 graduate of Dothan High School and served in the Alabama National Guard for 6 years. Mr. Tarver had been employed with Hedstrom for 23 years and with Sony for 17 years prior to his retirement in 2006. He was a member of Newton First Assembly of God Church.


Mr. Tarver was preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Lucille Tarver and his brothers, Huey, James and George Tarver.


Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Elaine Tarver; his sons, Dennis and David Tarver; several nieces and nephews.
