Jonnie Merle Daugherty, age 78, of Ashford, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014.

 

Born June 25, 1935 in the Ino Community, Alabama to the late Hubert and Pokie Lou Phillips Harrison. Mrs. Daugherty was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed working in her flowers, reading her romance books, and doing crafts. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Daugherty; sister, Francis Davis; brother, Billy Harrison.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Leita Scott (Greg); her son, Tim Daugherty (Sarah); her grandchildren, Heather Kendrick (Adam), Hannah McCraney (Robert Ferguson), Aaron Daugherty; great-grandchildren, Savanna Kendrick, Alannah McCraney, and Bailey Ferguson; sisters, Betty Davis (Arthur Glenn) of Opp, and Shirley Harrison of Opp; brother, Jimmy Harrison (Dora) of Opp.

 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 11 AM from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Joel Waller officiating. Burial will follow at the Ashford City Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 10 until 11 AM.

 

The family will be accepting flowers.

 

The family would also like to say thanks to Dr. Morris and his staff and a special thanks to Angela Armstrong and Teresa, her nurses from Alacare Hospice for their special care and tender touch.
