Mr. Joseph Michael Bogner, Jr., age 65, of Ozark, died Sunday, March 13, 2016.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 17, 2016, at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Frederick Boni and Deacon John Ross officiating. Interment will follow at Ewell Cemetery, Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time for the service.


Michael, or "Mike" to many of his friends, was born July 7, 1950 in Ozark. He was a graduate of Carroll High School where he enjoyed his time in the band, playing trumpet and cornet. His love of music was expressed during his years as a trumpet player for the band The Standing Ovation. When his touring days were over, Michael joined the flight line at Fort Rucker as an aircraft mechanic for thirty years until his retirement.


Mike was preceded in death by his parents Virgie Moore Bogner and Joseph Michael Bogner, Sr. Survivors include his sister, Jo Ann Tice of Enterprise, niece Carolyn Tice Maxwell (Jim) of Woodway, Texas, nephew Chuck Tice of Enterprise, great-niece Kellie Maxwell Bartlett (Tom) of Austin, Texas, great-nephew Chuck Tice (Dawn) of Enterprise, as well as many cousins, great-great nieces and nephews, and friends. Memorials may be made to St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, P. O. Box 1008, Ozark, Alabama 36361.
