Joshua Wayne Higgins, a resident of Dothan, died Saturday, April 19, 2013. He was 93.

 

Graveside services will be held Monday, April 22, 2013 at 3 P. M. at Memory Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 P. M. until 3 P. M. at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.

Mr. Higgins was owner of Higgins Electric Company from 1956 until 1988. He was a member of Lafayette Street Methodist Church, now Greystone, where he was a member of the Scarborough Sunday School Class.

He was also a member of the Lions Club, VFW, Elks club and masons. Mr. Higgins was a WW II veteran of the U. S. Navy where he served in the Asian Theatre ( Philippines)

 

Mr. Higgins was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Frances Moody Higgins in 1988 and Lorraine Brunson Higgins in 2008,his parents, Joshua Gross Higgins and Berlie Mae Sellers, brothers Charles Farrin Higgins, John Albert( Jack) Higgins and James Timothy Higgins.

 

Survivors include his children, Connie Frances Higgins, Alan Wayne Higgins and wife Laing Hensley Higgins. Two Grandchildren, Elizabeth Faust Higgins and Mary Jordan Higgins.

One brother William Jerry Higgins.
