JOYCE  GLOVER  SKEEN

 

NAPIER FIELD….Joyce Glover Skeen, a resident of Napier Field, died Sunday afternoon, July 28, 2013, in a Dothan hospital. She was 66.

            Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 31, 2013, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Norman Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan. The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the mortuary in Headland.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Grimes United Methodist Church, 404 Parramore Road, Dothan, AL 36303.

            Mrs. Skeen was born in Houston County and was reared in Grimes, daughter of the late H. D. Glover and Willie Mae Marchman Glover. She lived in Napier Field since 1970 and was a member of the Grimes United Methodist Church. Mrs. Skeen was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Lee Skeen, a granddaughter, Jamie Leigh Ruppel, five sisters, Annie Mae Kirkland, Christelle Dunn, Faye Moss, Barbara Oates, and Martha Shupert, and three brothers, T.J. Glover, W.A. Glover, and Travis W. Glover.

            Surviving relatives include her husband, Thomas Lee (Buddy) Skeen, Napier Field; a daughter, Traci Ballard (Greg), Napier Field; a son, Mark Skeen, Dothan; two sisters, Omega Casey, Ewell, AL; and Reba Scott, Dothan; a sister-in-law, Shirley Skeen Glover, Pansey, AL; six grandchildren, Jennifer Geri (Ryan), Joanna Medley (Dylan), Lillie Skeen, McAllister Skeen, Kyndyl Skeen, and Sarah Skeen; a great-granddaughter, Christina Geri; numerous nieces and nephews.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Don Warr, Clint Warr, Greg Snell, Brooks Glover, Mason Glover and Josh Peterson.
