Karen Kirkland Phillips age 52, a resident of Midland City, passed away suddenly at her home on January 15, 2015.

 

Funeral services will be held at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday January 17, 2015 at 11 AM with Reverend Eddie Littlefield officiating.  The family will be accepting friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

Karen was a member of Poplar Spring High School class of 1980. Karen worked in the medical field for many years as a nurse and then later worked in the dental field. Karen was a talented Seamstress; she recently fulfilled her lifelong dream of opening her own sewing shop.

 

She is preceded in death by her father Thomas Kirkland.

 

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Roger Phillips, a son Dallas Phillips (Alicia), daughters, Casey Phillips and Melissa West (Josh) and very special son J.T. Phillips, her mother Sarah Habbard (Will), mother-in-law Mary Lou Phillips, sister Patty Baxley (Gary) brother Allen Kirkland (Patricia), brother-in-law Glen Phillips (Nan) also several nieces and nephews and 3 grandchildren. 

 

The family will be accepting flowers.
