Kenneth Jerkins

 

           Mr. Kenneth Jerkins, 81 of Enterprise, AL died on Friday, September 26, 2014 at his residence, surrounded by his children.

            Funeral services will be 11 am, Monday, September 29, 2014 at Faith Assembly of God with Rev. Huey Anderson and Rev. Cliff Quincy officiating.  Burial will follow in Shiloh cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  Mr. Jerkins will lie in state 1 hour prior to service time.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 3 until 5 pm at Searcy Funeral Home.

            Mr. Jerkins was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He loved the Lord and served the Lord.  He served in the Army from 1951-1954 and was honorably discharged.  Mr. Jerkins then began his career as a long distance truck driver for 42 years.  He retired from Triple AAA Cooper in Dothan, AL after 27 years of service.  Daddy loved the Lord above all.  He loved his church and church family.   He was an Assembly of God minister for many years.  He taught Sunday school and loved leading souls to the Lord.  He loved his wife and family and was a blessing in our lives.  Daddy taught us many lessons and led his life as an example for us.  We will miss him and our lives will never be the same.  We love you Daddy.

            The family would like to express a special Thank You to DaySpring Hospice and also Thanks to Bobby, Erica, Cherita and Daniel. 

            Mr. Jerkins was preceded in death by his parents, Bunk and Alice Jerkins and brothers, Jeff, John, James, Bunk, Jr and Jimmy. 

            Survivors include his wife, Doris Jerkins, Enterprise, AL; six daughters, Debra Qualls (Winston), Enterprise, AL, Patricia Watson (Wayland), New Brockton, AL, Martie Allums, Daleville, AL, Sheila Bogle, Enterprise, AL, Teresa McInnis (Michael), Enterprise, AL, Rachel Cothern (Ricky), Coffee Springs, AL; also a special daughter, Carolyn Kyser, Enterprise, AL; son, Kenny Jerkins (Wanda), Enterprise, AL; sisters, Katherine Fulford and Betty Hall (Jerry); brother, Prof   Ray Jerkins; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren; special brother-in-law, Kermit Sonny Granberry (Marie).
